Two fully staffed private medical clinics and the Barrhead Health Care Centre, ensure residents and visitors have access to excellent health care.  With 34 active treatment beds, Barrhead Health Care Centre provides a wide range of services to the region, including obstetrics, surgery, general medicine, auxiliary care, emergency x-ray, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, diet counselling and education programs.  The W.R. Keir Care Centre is a 100 bed continuing care facility and Shepherd's Care Foundation is a 41 bed semi-assisted living eldercare facility, both offer individualized care. 
 
There are many facilities which are maintained for senior living and care.  The Hillcrest Home Society provides assisted living programs to help seniors maintain optimum well being.  Three manors which offer independent senior living include:  Klondike Place, Golden Crest and Jubilee Manor.  
 
The Aspen Regional Health Authority serves the Barrhead area and provides services in the following departments:  dental, environmental health, family health services, health promotion, home care support, medical officer of health, nutrition and speech and language.   They also have a Meals on Wheels program and a Volunteer Drivers program to help assist seniors in attending appointments.  For more information check out their webpage at aspenrha.ab.ca.
