how snow removal is prioritized in barrhead
We know snow removal is important to residents and businesses in Barrhead. With the potential for several significant snowfalls occurring in short periods of time, progress can feel slower than anyone would like. We appreciate everyone's patience as our snow crews work through challenging winter conditions
Our Snow Removal Priority map is intended to help better understand how snow removal is sequenced. The map visually identifies which streets are cleared first and how crews move through the community. Please note, route sequencing may change to accommodate scheduled garbage collection.
how to use the snow removal priority map
The map helps visualize:
- Priority routes that are cleared first after every snowfall
- Secondary routes that follow once priority routes are stabilized
- Residential streets and where they fall in the overall clearing sequence
When a new snow event occurs, crews must return to priority routes first to maintain emergency access across the community. As a result, progress on residential streets may pause until those routes are safe again.
