HOUSING STRATEGY

Barrhead is growing, and ensuring residents have access to safe and affordable housing is a priority for the Town. Our Housing Strategy, adopted in March 2025, outlines how we plan to increase housing supply, support diverse housing types, and work with partners to meet the needs of residents at every stage of life.

Increasing Housing Supply Reviewing land use bylaws, exploring tax incentives for new builds, and making municipally owned land available for residential development.

Community Engagement Hosting public open houses and keeping residents informed as housing initiatives move forward.

Advocacy and Funding Pursuing grants and maintaining dialogue with provincial and federal governments to bring more housing resources to Barrhead.
