how applications are scored

The Community Grant Committee which is comprised of two members of Administration and two members of Council, reviews every eligible application against four criteria:

  1. Community Benefit: Who does this help, and how many people?
  2. Alignment with Community Priorities: Does it support the Town's goals?
  3. Financial Need & Leverage: Is Town funding necessary, and does it unlock other support?
  4. Project Feasibility: Can your organization realistically deliver this?

in-kind support

Not every project needs cash. You can request facility use, materials, equipment, or labour instead of, or in addition to, funding. See Section 7 of the application form which covers in-kind support.

if you're approved

  • Use funds only as approved. Changes require prior written approval from the Town.
  • Credit the Town of Barrhead in all promotional advertising for the project as a sponsor.
  • Submit a final report within 30 days of your project's completion.
  • If you finish with a surplus over $100, tell us how you plan to use it. Council may request repayment of unused funds.
